As the holiday season sets in for this year, I thought that I would post something that matches the glittery, sparkling tone of the season… I’m talking about diamonds, of course!

And, as far as diamonds go – I have a penchant for vintage jewelry.  So, here are some fantastic engagement rings from decades past:

So, again I ask… why not? I think that they are fantastic!

Happy Mother’s Day, everyone…

My gift to my Mom this year overlaps with my wedding planning, and so I thought that I should – of course – share it here!

First, let me tell you about the package that I sent to her – it included a small vintage tea plate, and my own jewelry designs – a pair of earrings, and a bracelet. So, that was the gift.

It relates to wedding planning because I was considering doing a nearly identical earring/bracelet combination to accompany my wedding dress… slightly different – but, along the same lines as the gift. First, I should show you the gift pictures:

So, that is the gift all grouped together, right before packaging it to ship. What do you think of my lovely new jewelry tags & packaging? I just finished them… let me know what you think!

The pictures of the earrings were all horrible, by the way… my apologies for that obnoxious flash that is in the way. It kind of blinds the actual color and shape of the beads – which, are glass pearls (both on top and bottom.) I was very psyched about these – I just made them from scratch – starting with a few beads… and, I think that they turned out to be fantastic.

I would like to wear something nearly identical to these at my wedding… I even found pearls in the papaya color that my bridesmaids are wearing, and I was considering adding that into the mix – well, maybe. But, I really think that these are elegant, and will look fantastic!

Now, the charm bracelet – which, is much more understated than the stuff I usually make… but, it has to fit the person that will wear it! (Which, by the way – is why I love doing custom work for people!)

Okay, that one shows the whole thing – again, the lighting is absolutely horrid on these – sorry! What the flash blinds out on much of these is that the little circle charm that says, “Mother” on it – it is actually made of pearl, and it’s really pretty!

That was a close up of the vintage brass heart-shaped locket…

And, that one shows the very end of the bracelet, where there is a clear crystal charm… that way, if there is extra chain for fit – there is a a pretty little gem hanging from your arm!

And, there you can at least make out the shapes of everything else… the two little hearts – one is black, the other pearl… and, of course, the little bird charm – because I am obsessed with birds. (In fact, they are in my wedding – not real ones – but, I’ll do a separate post about that whole deal with the birds…)

So, for the wedding – I’ll probably keep this just as simple… but, I have a little heart charm that says, “My Heart Belongs to Daddy” – and, as an homage to my father, I’ll probably put that into the mix. Along with – of course – a lot of blue. Not sure what else – but, most likely some pearl to match the earrings.

So, what else will I use for my own little treasures? Well, here are a few things I have in mind – including the combination that I put together using the “Daddy” charm…
