My Family… Vintage Wedding Photos

I am always searching around for great vintage wedding photos on the web, and it occurred to me that I hadn’t yet shared my family’s vintage wedding photos yet!

Here are the 40’s/50’s era vintage wedding photos from my own family tree…

One of my favorites of all time…. breathtaking.

My grandparents on my Dad’s side (previous was my Mom’s side) – what an amazing wartime wedding story! After their second date, he went to war… when he returned for their third date – she had been waiting – and he proposed! Classic…

So, no blood relation here – but, this is the Grandmother of my new husband… and this is maybe one of my favorite wedding photos of all time. Look at the picture of her fiance in the lower corner – how adorable is this???  Plus – check out the plaque on the wall in the upper left hand corner of the photo… if you can’t read it, it says, “Keep Looking Up!!….” I can’t read the small print underneath… but, it’s cute alone!

Sweet Wedding Hangover… I Live To Tell

I still cannot believe that my wedding is over… it doesn’t seem possible.  Absolutely crazy…

I’ll be sure to do a series about “It happened to me” disasters that you can avoid in your wedding (but, I did not.)

First, however – I thought that I would include some photos for you all to enjoy… so, enjoy!

My beautiful bridesmaids made me feel so special the entire weekend… they are all so dear to me.

Bad attempts at “Abbey Road” photos – however, I have not yet seen the professional photos yet!  These are purely snapshots!  You can see the famous Brown Palace Hotel  in the background – across the street from the church.

My groom.  (I am in the background with my brother… the groom is the one holding the bouquet… of course!)

Our fantastic cake!  The cake guy did exactly what I wanted, and it looked exactly how I pictured it… plus, it actually tasted great as well!

This one is so funny to me, simply because it is so great!  We look like an ad for David’s Bridal or something!  Right?

Waiting with the original men in my life – my Dad, and little brother.

Oh man – I was freaking out here… the story is forthcoming on the “dress freakout!”

I was a MESS!  I soooo could NOT keep myself from crying!  At least my Dad looks good.  I cringe at the idea that I was crying while everyone was expecting me to “shine!”

Ha, ha… woops!

Woops… this is totally going to be us in that car.  We’re totally doing ours over Memorial Day Weekend next year… but, at least we’re doing it on a Sunday?  I think it will be okay, though…. the Save the Dates have been sent, so at least we’re givng notice?
